MoveOn - Artists Against ICE

This piece was selected as a finalist for MoveOn’s Artists Against ICE initiative.

The monarch butterflies are a symbol of migration, endurance, and resilience. Like immigrants, they travel long and difficult journeys in search of safe environments where they can survive and thrive. The milkweed flowers, which they depend on to survive, represent healing, sanctuary, and the ability to thrive in the face of adversity.

I created this piece because I believe wholeheartedly that immigrants belong, and that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and a place to call home. I wanted this piece to serve as a reminder that migration is natural, belonging is essential, and our communities are strongest when we protect and nurture one another.
